The daily adventures of a 60-ish year old mom and preschool teacher-turned-church secretary as she crosses into the realm of the real world. She uses her preschool mentality in the confines of the church she is pretending to play secretary in, and has discovered that sometimes life is more manageable from that point of view.

PANDEMICALLY SPEAKING, Why not?
The team here has been dedicating incredible time and energy in their efforts to provide connection without actually physically connecting. In some ways, I wonder if we will need a B team to keep these creative measures going from afar whenever we can really be in person again. Oh, Lordy. This place needs a video van to go all over hill and dale to record. They've very nearly been there already. Snail mail and email and all other kinds of social media, virtual meetings, psychic communication, they are doing it all, and still.... I hear unwarranted concerns that the congregation may not feel the love, the connection. Hogwash I say! The stats are through the roof in a good way, unlike the news.
If, after all this is put back into ordinary time and familiar chaos, those artists second guess and triple guess their heroic efforts, I have the answer!!! Let's have Easter in October!!!! I mean, I've heard of Christmas in July, so why not? "But wait!" you might say. If we have in-person Easter in October, that means Jesus has to do his hard work twice in one year! This means he'll barely be risen before he gets born again. That is just too much, sister!! and what would this church chick say to that? Well, I'd say that too much is having the world on viral fire, with waves upon waves of death and illness, for one.
I'd also say truthfully, with the energy I am seeing expended from the creative creatures around here right now, I don't think the strongest Star Bucks has to offer could give them the zip to do that.
However, it IS a leap year, so who knows?
Now that He has risen into a less polluted Upper Room "space", the shift into the after Easter season has begun.
Just as the cross gets dragged by two humans to its resting place (until next year), the lilies we didn't have are also gone, and thankfully, the palm crosses are no longer hanging like scary people on the front doors. There is my happy thought for the day. Now I can see any scoundrels threatening to break in and rob me WAY before they get near the door. whew. It's the little things.
